The purpose of the Foundation is fulfilled in collaboration with universities and colleges. Annually some 400 students spread over 20 to 25 different courses are visiting Östad.
- From SLU will courses are from Umeå, Uppsala and Alnarp. The many forests high environmental values at Östads are a good basis for the education.
- Courses from the University of Gothenburg are mainly related to Biology and Environmental Science, where the forests connected to the EU-directive Natura 2000 forests are popular items for excursions.
- Dalarna University´s education in human geography is using the high cultural values of Östad in their course program.
- Linné University’s education mainly consists of forestry planning but also has elements of “soft” values in the forests.
